Paragon Competitions has been operating since 2020 and has built a good reputation for offering something slightly different from the usual UK competition site. Rather than concentrating almost entirely on cars, its draws regularly cover tech, LEGO, gaming, collectibles, tools, golf equipment, home products, cash and specialist hobby prizes.
Variety is one of Paragon's strongest points.
Recent competitions have included gaming PCs, Apple products, LEGO bundles, Pokémon cards, TVs, tools, cameras, guitars, golf equipment, kitchen appliances and cash. Many physical prizes also come with a cash alternative.
Ticket prices and competition sizes vary considerably. Paragon clearly displays the ticket price, total available tickets, number sold and sold percentage, making it relatively easy to compare the odds before entering.
Live draws normally take place on Facebook every Monday and Thursday at 8pm using independent service Random Picker. Paragon also publishes entry lists and links to verified results, allowing customers to confirm that their entry was included.
Some competitions use automated draws instead, which are selected using Paragon's own random winner-selection system.
One of Paragon's biggest positives is its guaranteed draw policy. Competitions aren't extended simply because they haven't sold out. Once the timer expires, Paragon says the advertised prize is awarded regardless of how many tickets have sold.
That can make undersold draws particularly interesting, although the actual ticket numbers should always be checked rather than relying purely on the percentage sold.
Instant-win competitions are also a big part of the site, with selected ticket numbers winning additional cash or physical prizes.
Cash winnings can be withdrawn through Paragon's Cash Wallet using TrueLayer-powered open banking, allowing eligible winnings to be transferred directly to a bank account.
A free postal entry route is available.
Entrants need a registered account and must send the required details on an unenclosed postcard using ordinary post. Postal entries currently allow one free entry per person/account per competition and must arrive before that competition closes.
Paragon has several strong transparency signals.
Alongside its established UK company history, Paragon is listed as a signatory to the Government's Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators.
It is also involved with the Prize Competition Council, with director Ian Buckley sitting on the organisation's inaugural board.
Responsible-participation measures include spending limits, temporary account locks, self-exclusion and permanent account closure. Paragon also prohibits credit-card payments for entries.
Customer reviews are strong too. At the time of checking, Paragon held a 4.7/5 Trustpilot rating from around 2,900 reviews. Customers frequently praise the prize variety, customer service, quick payouts and fast prize delivery.
There is some negative feedback, mainly around isolated customer-service or social-media disputes, but this represents a small minority compared with the overall volume of positive reviews.
Paragon is one of the more interesting established UK competition operators.
Its biggest strengths are the unusual prize selection, clearly displayed ticket information, guaranteed draws, published entry lists and independently verified live draws. Its involvement with the Government's voluntary code and Prize Competition Council adds further reassurance.
The main thing to watch is competition size. Ticket limits vary enormously, so compare the total entries rather than judging value from the ticket price alone.
For tech, LEGO, gaming, collectibles and hobby prizes in particular, Paragon is well worth checking. Just keep an eye on the numbers, stick to a sensible budget and remember that even good odds are still odds.
